2018 Schedule + Change of Mod

Hello everyone!

HetSwap is officially a go for 2018! I'm wynnebat, the new mod for this exchange. I'm thrilled to be running this exchange this year thanks to fangirlism, who has allowed me to follow in their footsteps. Although the dates for the original schedule have already passed, I'm hoping to start the exchange soon and keep it as a winter-spring exchange.

My proposed schedule for 2018:

Nominations: Wednesday, January 24 @12:01AM - Saturday, February 3 @11:59PM
Sign-Ups: Monday, February 5 @12:01AM - Monday, February 12 @11:59PM
Assignments out by: Wednesday, February 14 @11:59PM
Assignments due by: Monday, April 2 @11:59PM
Works revealed: Monday, April 9 @8PM
Creators revealed: Monday, April 16 @8PM

All times are in EST. This schedule leaves for 6.5 weeks to create a work and as far as I can tell, there are no other fic exchange assignment deadlines that week. I'm open to postponing the assignment deadline by two weeks (to the 16th, the week after space_swap and smutswap are due) if the timeframe feels too short.

I'm also interested in raising the minimum word count to 1,000 words, but if there's a strong consensus to keep it at 500, I'm happy to keep it that way.

Edit: I'll be making a post later with the new guidelines/reaffirmation of the dates, but I've decided to keep this proposed schedule and go ahead with the word count increase.

Congrats on taking the reins!

I believe fangirlism was debating whether to add polyships to the accepted relationships; was a decision made on that?

I'm open to the idea of allowing poly ships in next year's round if enough people are interested in the idea, but for 2018 I'm sticking to the original relationship rules.

I'm going to ask for poly relationships not to be added? We have holly_poly that runs every year and while I do participate in that one, I also love that we do have this one exchange that is het-focused as well.

That's also a fair point. I'll make a post on the topic after this year's round ends to get everyone's opinions. In any case, this year the exchange will follow the original guidelines.

Did you intend for the due dates to be May, which is actually a 10 week period, or should that say April?

I'm glad this is running again.

I'd prefer to keep the minimum at 500 personally. Having a lower minimum makes me feel more comfortable.

After some thought, I've decided to go ahead with the word count increase. I encourage you to sign up if you feel you'd be alright with the increase!

The current dates sound fine with me! If they were moved forward, on the other hand, I probably wouldn't be able to take part.
